It all started with Mystery Café. Back in 1986 in the basement of a Cambridge bar, and now, over 20 years later, we are still the first and finest mystery theater troupe in the country.

We have been doing one-of-a-kind mysteries for over 23 years for groups as small as 12 and as large as 500. We perform locally in the Greater Boston area, and have additional troupes in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington DC, & Southern Virginia in Richmond, Williamsburg and Virginia Beach.

Mystery Cafe is an evening of freewheeling, informal fun! Our shows are murder mysteries – but that’s just the outline. What we’re known for is fast-paced comedy, the kind you’d watch on your favorite prime-time sit-com. But at Mystery Cafe YOU are seated right in the middle of the action, and may actually have a role in the performance.

In addition to our two dinner theater in Boston we have other great options for your holiday party including the Boston Harbor Mystery Cruise (your own heated and enclosed boat); the Gourmet Detective Mansion Mystery (private shows available) and the best option of all, your own private, customized show, at the location of your choice.
